Banff bus service changing for skiers

A change is coming to the way Banff skiers will get to the hill.

A bus service that used to shuttle skiers from local hotels to the three major resorts in the picturesque community is being reduced.

The $2 million-a-year service has seen some of the participating hotels opt out, favouring a shuttle service of their own.

The director of the National Parks Ski Association, Crosby Cotton tells 660News they are moving to a different model used in other North American resorts.

He adds, the buses should be out on the highway not idling on the streets of Banff.

The changes to system have been in the works for several years and three hotels have agreed to partner with the association for the new service.
