30 Calgary firefighters have been honoured with the Alberta Emergency Services Medal for 12 years of service.
Brian McAsey with the Calgary Fire Department tells 660News, all the firefighters had served in a specialty with many of them in multiple disciplines.
He says, “It’s critical that we’re able to rely on these people and with their experience to do what we need to do.”
The provincial medal was first presented in May of 2003.
