Formal city budget debate starts

The new city council formally starts their budget debate Tuesday.

Alderman John Mar tells Citytv no one is exempt from being asked to trim the fat.

“We’ve asked all of the departments within the City of Calgary to look at what cuts can be made,” he says.

The city’s forecasted budget shortfall for 2011 comes in at $60-million.
