Dozens of charges have been laid and vehicles seized after a four day investigation into prostitution in the city’s southeast.
Community concerns prompted officers to investigate. The vice unit and officers on bicycles then cracked down on illegal soliciting in the area.
As a result, 11 sex trade workers were rounded up and 14 customers were charged or given orders to appear in court.
11 vehicles were seized.
The offenders ranged in age from 29 to 59 and are from Calgary, Okotoks and Fort McMurray.
So far this year, 77 vehicles belonging to sex offenders have been seized in Calgary and 119 sex trade customers have been charged.
