Before the temperature drops and the snow flies, you might want to give your trees and bushes a good water.
Darren at Sunnyside Home and Garden Centre says most Calgarians don’t water their outdoor vegetation enough.
“Trees are dry,” Darren tells 660News. “We haven’t had enough moisture. So pull out your hose. If you’ve packed up your hoses, some buckets of water will work just the same.” (You want) “a trickle of water rather than a big dump of a bucket. But it will work.”
Darren adds, most people don’t water their outdoor vegetation enough and says it’s difficult to overwater.
“Anything big it’s not going to be harmful to,” says Darren. “Some of the smaller trees, just gauge” (watering) “accordingly. You don’t want to over saturate for sure.”
Darren says you really don’t need worry about your lawn, outside of raking up all the dead leaves.
