In the wake of controversy over rock star bashes at the CEO’s house, Enmax has pulled the plug on its staff Christmas party.
Alderman Gord Lowe tells The Calgary Sun, he doesn’t blame senior executives but he says the move unfairly penalizes Enmax staff.
It’s a result of public anger over revelations that Gary Holden threw company-financed shin-digs at his home featuring rockers Tom Cochrane and the Tragically Hip’s Gord Downie.
An angry Lowe defended the parties at the CEO’s house, saying the public doesn’t know the facts.
He says a lot of companies spend money on staff Christmas parties, but evidently Enmax isn’t about to do that because the public doesn’t want it to happen.
