A 33-year-old Calgary mother is in the fight for her life as she battles stage four brain cancer.
Although Barb Jurcic Rushforth has already undergone two major surgeries, she will soon travel to Europe to undergo complimentary treatments only available on that continent.
Barb’s sister Natasha, the event’s organizer, tells 660News that the treatments work together with therapy available here. She says Light It Up! will raise awareness for cancer therapies outside of the standard protocols of radiation and chemotherapy in Canada.
The evening will feature a cocktail and hors d’oeuvres reception, a silent auction, entertainment from guest DJs starting at 7:30 p.m. on November 11th at Flames Central (219 8th Ave SW).
