Even though most of us gained an hour of sleep Sunday morning because of the time change, an expert says we still need to be cautious on the roads.
Kent Dixon with the Alberta Motor Association tells 660News many people stayed up later than normal Saturday night when clocks fell back, knowing they could sleep in the next morning.
He says most of us are already sleep-deprived at the best of times, so if you’ve pushed yourself this weekend hoping the extra hour would balance things out, you’re just adding to your existing sleep debt.
Dixon says fatigue can be as risky as alcohol impairment, slowing your reaction time and impacting judgment.
