Higgins won’t run to replace Prentice

Barb Higgins will not run to replace Jim Prentice as MP for Calgary Centre-North.

The former news anchor and mayoral candidate made the announcement on her Facebook page.

Higgins says she isn’t ruling out politics and has a number of options open to her that she’s considering.

Prentice announced last week he’s stepping down as MP and Environment Minister to take an executive job at CIBC.

Former mayoral candidate and alderman Ric McIver has already said it’s very likely he will take a run for the seat.
