Cold prevention season is in full swing

The coughing and sneezing that comes along with the cold season is, unfortunately, here.

Dr. Ken Scott with Health Canada tells 660News nobody is immune from the various common cold viruses that are circulating, adding people with children have an even greater risk of becoming sick.

Scott says there is not much a person can do about a cold, outside of buying some over the counter medications to keep symptoms in check.

He says the best way to avoid getting a cold is to exercise, follow a healthy diet, get plenty of rest and to wash your hands frequently.
