When you’re out and about and hunger pangs strike, it’s easy to succumb to fast food.
But is there a way to get low calorie, healthy food quickly?
A registered dietician with Health Stand Nutrition Consulting, Katy McCulloch, says even if you’re counting calories you’ll be able to find something to eat if you stick to these types of food.
“Healthier options and fresher ingredients, sandwiches or salads, or a place that grills, a place that provides smoothies, maybe sushi as well.”
She says if you’re minding your waist you should always make sure there are grains, protein and fruits or veggies on your plate.
McCulloch adds, try to avoid the salt.
“Definitely salt [content] is going to be much higher in pre-packaged and fast foods, so going for something that has fresher ingredients, something that doesn’t have a heavy sauce.”
According to Health.com, a good, readily available choice is Subway’s six inch Veggie Delite with Swiss cheese.
