Property seized and restrained during RCMP searches

Several high end pieces of property were seized or restrained by RCMP on Tuesday connected to an organized crime investigation.

Police used 11 warrants to seize seven vehicles including a pair of Lamborghinis and Porsches, along with documents, cash and four and a half kilograms of cocaine.
As well, four high-end homes, a strip mall business, and two bank accounts were restrained, meaning the assets cannot be sold.

In total seven people between 40 and 60 years of age were arrested, but no charges have been laid.

Police allege the group was working together and are major players in organized crime in Southern Alberta.

The main target of the investigation was the leader of the group.

Police are now working with prosecutors to sift through all the evidence and documents to decide what charges should be handed down.

The investigation began two years ago when police were tipped off about a suspicious document at a Southern Alberta casino where money laundering was suspected.
