COP may get Hollywood makeover

Canada Olympic Park could eventually be the site of a new film studio.

There are plans to build three sound stages, 3-D editing stations and animation studios.

Government funding for the complex is coming together and talks are on to secure land for the project.

The province will likely put $10.5-million into the project while the city could put forward $4.7-million.

Alberta Culture Minister Lindsay Blackett tells The Calgary Herald he hopes that construction can start early next year.
