The head of the Calgary Board of Education met with about 25 high school students on Thursday for the Student Leadership Program.
Naomi Johnson, the Chief Superintendent of the CBE tells 660News the participants will receive a credit for the once a week meetings that aim to give students more of a say on what goes on in their schools.
She adds, the discussions she has with the students range from anything to the food being served in the cafeteria to learning how classes could be more interesting
Johnson says because the program has been successful, the board definitely hopes to bring it back next year with a fresh new group of students.
The meetings are part of the CBE’s Career and Technology Studies program.
