The City of Calgary’s new online road conditions map has proven to be popular.

More than 12,000 people logged on during the snowfall last week to get real-time updates on which streets have been plowed and sanded.

Roads department spokesman Sean Somers says that’s a strong showing for a first week and considering it was a relatively minor snowfall. He’ll be interested to see how many people check the map when we next get a big dump of snow.
