Mount Royal University celebrates centennial Thursday

Premier Ed Stelmach, Mayor Naheed Nenshi and other honoured guests will be part of Mount Royal University’s centennial celebration on Thursday.
Official cake-cutting will happen at 2 p.m. in the Roderick Mah Centre for Continuous Learning and alumnus and renowned futurist Ruben Nelson will also speak.
Organizer Steven Noble tells 660News, they’re excited to welcome back former professor, Mayor Nenshi who says he hasn’t been on campus as much as he’d like, but will say a few congratulatory words to the school.
The premier will also take part in a ceremonial puck-drop at 3 p.m. to kick off a celebrity invitational road hockey game.
The game will be followed by fireworks at 5 p.m.
All the day’s events are open to the public and everyone is welcome to enjoy the festivities.
