Taxi experiment gets underway

Calgary’s taxi experiment started Thursday night.

A dozen taxi stands have been set up in the downtown and Beltline area to take Calgarians home safely.

Cabs will be allowed to wait for fares at the stands.

The stands will be up and running between 10 p.m. and 3 a.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

The city will be assessing how the program works to decide whether or not to expand it.
