Stay fire safe this holiday season

The Calgary fire department is out with a warning to keep you safe this holiday season.

Public Information Officer Brian McAsey tells 660News that candles are the cause of many blazes.

McAsey adds the open flame should be kept out of the reach of children and never left unattended.

Having a dry Christmas tree can also spark a blaze, therefore McAsey’s advice is too keep it well watered and any lights that are attached should be in good working order.
