Eighth Avenue Place gets green accolades

One of Calgary’s newest and tallest downtown towers is also one of North America’s greenest.

Eighth Avenue Place, the reflective glass structure at 8th Avenue and 4th Street S.W., has been pre-certified as a LEED Platinum building.

Once the skyscraper opens and is officially designated LEED Platinum, it will be the first in Canada and only the second in North America, according to The Calgary Herald.

Among the highlights, Eighth Avenue Place features a state of the art heating and cooling system, a 300 bicycle parking area and Canada’s largest “green” roof, which is 30,000 square feet.
