Fire in Rockyview destroys home

A fire in Rocky View County has destroyed a house while it’s believed the residents of the home are away on vacation in Vancouver.
Fire crews from Rocky View, Cochrane and Calgary all responded to blaze around 11:00 on Wednesday morning.
When they arrived the home was completely engulfed and the lack of fire hydrants in the area left crews with no choice but to let the blaze burn itself out
Matthew, who lives in the area tells 660News, he could see flames from a distance away, “We knew it was going to be pretty bad because through all the tree’s it was still so bright.”
At time flames were up to 100 feet in air.
Stephanie, an area resident added “From my window, the smoke was so high”
Residents in the area say four people live in the home, no injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is now under investigation.
