Man’s death now called a murder

Investigators have reclassified a suspicious death from earlier this year, as a murder.
Aref Selman Nassereddine, 64, was found dead from stab wounds in his home in the 1600 block of 42nd Street SW on March 17th.
Now, crime lab DNA results have led police to call it a murder, possibly a crime of opportunity.
Officers are looking for two men who they believe may have either followed the victim home, or may have been invited to accompany the victim.
Witnesses described seeing the pair in the backyard of Nassereddine’s home on the morning he was killed.
Early in the investigation police had been looking for two women caught on surveillance video talking to Nassereddine on the day of his death, but later ruled them out as being involved.
Police are looking for a key chain that went missing on the day of Nassereddine’s murder.
Officers say it could be a key piece of evidence in the case.
