Michelle Lang remembered

It’s a sombre anniversary for The Calgary Herald and for four Canadian military families.

One year ago, a massive roadside bomb in Afghanistan killed reporter Michelle Lang and four soldiers she was travelling with.

Lang’s dad Art says it’s still tough dealing with the tragedy.

“There’s been a lot of tributes paid to Michelle,” he says. “They help us, but at the same time they remind us of what we have lost.”

Four soldiers and one civilian survived the blast, spending the past year going through numerous surgeries and endless rounds of rehab and physiotherapy.
