The season to spread holiday cheer may be over, but not the germ spreading one, according to Alberta Health Services.
Spokesperson Dr. Judy MacDonald tells 660News there are several ways to protect yourself against the flu.
“Wash your hands frequently throughout the day and keep them away from your face, because that is how you can pick up various viruses including influenza. The second thing is that if you’re ill, you should be staying home. Don’t go to school, don’t go to work.”
She says 15 people in Calgary have been hospitalized with Influenza A or B.
Both strains, and H1N1 are included in this year’s flu shot, still available at community health centres.
