Economic optimism level down

The latest survey by the Economic Club of Canada suggests Canadians are less optimistic about the state of the economy than they were a year ago.
The poll found 38 per cent of people feel the economy will improve in the coming months, but that’s down from 54 per cent who felt that way a year ago.
One in 5 people actually feel the economy will worsen in 2011.
The Chairman of Pollara, Michael Marzolini tells 660News he’s not surprised by the results.
Marzolini says there is a real feeling of financial frustration out there and while more people are managing to maintain, 40 per cent of people feel like they are falling behind.
He says positive statistical data indicating the economy is improving does not fill a person’s wallet or purse with money.
The Chief Economist at RBC Financial , Craig Wright says it’s easier to be pessimistic than optimistic.
Wright is confident in rather short order as the economy strengthens, future polls will show Canadians are feeling better.
