Calgarians to welcome back winter

We’re being told to prepare for another blast of winter.
Snow is expected to fall Friday night and continue to come down over the weekend.
Five to 10 centimetres are expected, with higher amounts north of the city.
Even though the stormy weather is arriving on the weekend, it will not change how the road department will battle the elements which will make driving difficult.
Crews will treat bridge decks and hills with calcium chloride. As the temperature continues to fall and the snow starts to stick, they will spread a “pickle mixture”, which is a combination of sand and gravel.
Sean Somers with the Roads Department says regardless of the day of the week, their approach to managing the roads is exactly the same.
