The RCMP and Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission have made a massive contraband cigarette bust in the Ponoka area.

Approximately 75-thousand cartons of cigarettes with a value of $3 million in lost tax revenue to the province was seized from a Quonset during a search warrant on Wednesday.

The cigarettes were not properly marked for legal sale in violation of the provincial Tobacco Tax Act.
