A new survey shows working moms are getting the short end of the stick when it comes to employment.
Workspace solutions provider Regus surveyed its clients, with only 31 per cent saying they would hire more working mothers.
That’s compared to 41 per cent last year.
Wes Lenci with Regus tells 660News people tend to be more forthcoming about their actual intentions in surveys like this, when they’re anonymous.
Lenci says businesses reluctant to hire working moms felt that they show less commitment and flexibility than other employees and that they’re likely to leave shortly after being hired in order to have another child.
The survey also showed, 24 per cent of business owners reluctant to hire working moms said that they have out-dated skills.
