Flu cases could clog emergency rooms

The acting head of the Alberta Health superboard is worried that flu cases will clog the province’s emergency rooms.
Dr. Chris Eagle tells the Edmonton Journal, Albertans with the flu could sideline the province’s plans to get people through emergency rooms faster.
He’s afraid the same thing that’s happened in Ontario, with flu cases flooding the hospitals, could happen here.
Almost half a million Albertans have had their flu shots, which is about 14 per cent of the population.
However, the province’s target is 33 per cent.
