Keystone pipeline hits lawsuit

A proposed pipeline that would send Alberta oil all the way to Texas has hit another legal road block.

Twelve Oklahoma landowners are fighting a lawsuit from Calgary-based TransCanada Pipeline for access to their property in order to build the Keystone pipeline.

TransCanada says they offered landowners rates above market value for access, to no avail.

They’re now suing to get on the land by contending that the pipeline will provide a public good.

The landowners say they don’t see what the benefit would be for them.
