Possible spring election

The election speculation is ramping up with all of the federal party leaders on tour trying to drum up support.
The prime minister has once again started using the word “majority.”
The first time Stephen Harper started talking about gaining a majority it cost him the election in 2004, but University of Windsor Political Scientist Cheryl Collier says today its a whole different story.
“I think the stakes are different now. I think Canadians are not as scared about that concept of a majority,” she says.
Communications experts say slowly but surly we’ve warmed up to title “Prime Minister Stephen Harper” because overall his five years in power haven’t been that bad for the country and the polls show that.
As we head to a possible spring vote, they say Harper will continue offering the choice of either a Tory majority or a coalition alternative because it’s the best chance he’s had to gain the power he’s always sought.
Meantime, the ethics commissioner is being asked to investigate after the Federal Conservatives released a new series of television and online commercials.
Most of them are attack ads but the one that isn’t may have broken some rules.

In the commercial however, the prime minister is seen walking through the halls of parliament and working at his desk.
“Here’s an individual that says, you know, trust me I’m an ethical man. I’ve set my own rules and I have to abide by the rules and here we have the same individual breaking those rules in order to profit his party
Karygiannis has launched a formal complaint and wants the ads pulled as soon as possible.
