There won’t be a review of the lease on the Calgary Board of Education’s new downtown headquarters.
Trustee Sheila Taylor called for the review to see if it was a wise use of taxpayer money but the board voted it down at Tuesday night’s meeting.
More than 500 employees are moving into the new building on 8th Street S.W. next month, which will cost the board about $11-million a year.
Parent advocate Laura Shutiak tells The Calgary Herald she and other parents aren’t finished with their calls for a review and will take the issue to the education minister.
