CNRL worker speaks out about his ordeal

A worker injured in an explosion and fire at CNRL’s Horizon upgrader says he’s happy to be alive.
20-year-old Brett Forrester is back home with his family on Vancouver Island, resting after the flames left him with burns to his hands and face.
He tells the Edmonton Journal he was on a routine day of training when he and another worker noticed some strange smells coming from the coker.
He says he covered his face with his hands, took a deep breath and found a stairway to the nearest exit.
He adds it’s a miracle he made it out.
The province is still investigating the January 6th blaze.
