Enmax head steps down

Enmax President and CEO Gary Holden has resigned from his position with the company following new allegations.
The resignation, which is effective immediately, is the result of a mutual agreement between Holden and the Enmax board.
A recent media report accuses Holden of accepting a trip to Monaco in 2008 from a company the utility does business with.
Enmax company policy stipulates that all gifts over $100 must be disclosed to the board before being accepted.
The company’s ethics report from 2008 does not disclose such a trip.
Mayor Naheed Nenshi says he asked the board to meet and discuss the latest accusations against the former CEO.
Nenshi says Holden’s resignation will not affect Enmax customers.
“You will continue to receive electricity and gas from one of the best and most progressive providers in the world,” Nenshi says.
Alderman Brian Pincott, who sits on the Enmax board, says this resignation was a mutual decision.
“The board and Mr. Holden both reached the conclusion that his resignation was the right decision for the future of Enmax.”
Pincott says a new president and CEO will be announced once a decision is made, but there is no word on how long that search will take.
