The province has picked its team of experts to decide how well environmental rules are working in the oilsands.
The 12 member monitoring panel is to be chaired by former Trans Canada CEO Hal Kvisle and former University of Lethbridge President Howard Tennant.
Environment Minister Rob Renner says he has full confidence in the choices.
“I have no doubt these two accomplished individuals will ensure a credible and functional system is built the make-up of the remaining panel members is equally important, said Renner. “With the co-chair’s guidance we were fortunate to form a panel with a tremendous amount of experience and expertise.”
A full report and recommendations from the panel is expected in June.
