Charges laid in eagle feather seizure

Four people are facing wildlife trafficking charges after officials found and seized several illegal eagle feathers.

Wildlife officers raided two homes on the Stoney reserve west of Calgary and another home in Red Deer on Thursday.

A pawn shop in St. Albert has also been shut down.

The suspects have been charged with unlawful possession and the sale of birds of prey.

The maximum penalty on those charges is a $100,000 dollar fine and two years in prison.

Court dates have been set for March.
