Calgary Police introduce first ever cadet corps

Calgary Police Chief Rick Hanson along with Cenovus Energy introduced the first ever Police Cadet Corps Sunday presenting them with a ceremonial flag.

The CPCC’s foundations are based on Canadian military programs focusing on policing, while offering opportunities to develop leadership, enhance physical fitness and set the stage for positive social interaction and achievement.

The graduated program, which includes five levels of skill development, is generally achieved in five consecutive years in the corps.

The first 12 selected will be helping out the next recruits, another 30 cadets will be chosen by September.
