Dog attack in Calgary’s NW

A search is underway for an aggressive dog in Beddington after it attacked a woman and her Labradoodle out for a walk.

Lois Hedin was out with her one-year old dog Lucy when they were both attacked by a medium-sized dog around 7 a.m. on Berkshire Boulevard near Sandarac Drive.

She says a man came running out of a nearby house and pulled the dog off, which then ran across the road where it was hit by a car.

The animal was still able to run off and now bylaw officers are trying to track it down.

Meantime, when a Calgary Transit driver saw what was happening to Lois, he stopped and offered her and Lucy refuge in his bus just in case the bigger dog came back.

The pair are nursing bite wounds but haven’t required any stitches.
