RCMP looking into threats following dog slaughter

The RCMP is investigating threats over a massive dog slaughter that has outraged the public.

The Mounties aren’t saying who was targeted in the threats, but say they included comments on social media websites and at least one e-mail.

News broke this week that a Whistler dog sledding company ordered the slaughter of 100 dogs when bookings dried up after the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.

Several Facebook groups have formed taking aim at the operator and demanding criminal charges against those who “murdered” the animals.

Mounties say they have found the mass grave where the dogs were dumped but can’t investigate further until the ground thaws.
