Alberta’s Balzac Billy crawled out of his hole Wednesday morning only to run right back in after seeing his shadow, heralding six more weeks of winter.
That puts Billy at odds with North America’s other three furry forecasters on Groundhog Day 2011.
Ontario’s Wiarton Willie, Nova Scotia’s Shubenacadie Sam and Pennsylvania’s Punxsutawney Phil are all predicting an early spring for eastern Canada and the U.S.
Those three groundhogs failed to see their shadows Wednesday morning.
