Calgary Zoo highlights conservation

The Calgary Zoo has launched its two month spotlight on Siberian tigers.
Only 350 of the big cats remain in the wild and the zoo wants to inspire visitors to help change that.
Spokesman Simon Scott says they have enhanced their interpretive programming, by having more staff interacting with visitors about how they can help save the animals.
It’s the first in a series of programs aimed at conservation. Other animals that will be highlighted include gorillas and grizzly bears. Scott says these are examples of animals that need our help in the wild, and can be found at the zoo.
Scott says conservation is the zoo’s number one priority.
