Another fluoride vote?

The fluoride debate resumed at City Hall Tuesday afternoon with council considering a committee recommendation to remove it from Calgary’s drinking water.
Mayor Naheed Nenshi has said he’d be in favour of putting the issue to a public vote.
Nearly everyone we talked to support the idea of another plebiscite on the issue.
There have been several votes on fluoride in decades past, with all of them pretty evenly split.
Our straw poll today suggests the decision belongs to the public.
“There’s still a lot of debate on both sides, scientifically, and I don’t think we should leave it up to city council. We should let the public decide,” one person tells 660News.
The result of a plebiscite, however, is not binding on council, which means aldermen would still have to vote either way.
