Possible solutions to debt headaches

Money Mentors is opening its doors Wednesday night to offer free financial advice for people who are struggling to make ends meet.

The non-profit group’s Tracy Watson tells 660News the seminar will illustrate “how to do some budgeting” (or) “just to find some extra money to pay off your debts.” She adds the information session will run the gamut from “re-financing, getting a consolidation loan, how to negotiate with your creditors, right down to looking at the orderly payment of debts program or bankruptcy.”

“We know that there’s lots of people out there right now trying to do that,” notes Watson, referring to the number of people with dealing with credit card debt and the post-holiday season bills.

People attending Wednesday’s seminar won’t face any pressure.

“We’re unbiased, non-judgmental obviously, and you’re not making any committments to a program or anything else,” says Watson.  “It’s just pure information to get you started thinking about what you want to do with your own situation.”

The “Tackle Debt” discussion is being put on Wednesday evening between 6:30 and 7:30 at the Money Mentor’s office at 12th Street and 59th Avenue Southeast.
