From wealthy businessman to convict; a well-educated Calgary man has been sentenced to 18 months in jail for a botched bank robbery.
Robert Irwin Bondar, 63, was also given 30 days behind bars for shoplifting bottles of Sunny Delight from a Walmart.
The Calgary Sun reports his lawyer argued her client’s crime spree was driven by bipolar disorder and he didn’t go off the rails until his mood swings accelerated at the age of 56.
