Free fare zone extension in question

This article is more than 5 years old.
City council says it wants more information before it decides whether or not to extend the 7th Avenue LRT free fare zone to Stampede Park.
A decision to do that would result in over $1-million in lost revenue for Calgary Transit.
Alderman Andre Chabot says it would bring more money into the city by making Stampede easier to get to, attracting larger conventions, conferences and trade shows.
Chabot says it would also help promote the Calgary experience for visitors.
Council is asking for a report to be made available to them, supplying more details on how an extension would affect both Transit and the Stampede.
That’s expected by April.
