TSX surpasses 14,000-point mark for first time since July 2008

The TSX has surpassed the 14,000-point mark for the first time since July 2008. The stock index is now positive by more than four per cent this year.

ATB Senior Economist Todd Hirsch tells 660News while the numbers are impressive, it’s mostly still a psychological factor, adding we still might see some pull-back.

“People may want to take some profits on that so we may see some selling and it will dip back down maybe to 13,600 or something like that,” says Hirsch.

Hirsch says there is a herd-like mentality when it comes to the TSX and the slightest drop could send people running for the door.
