Charges laid in accidental shooting

Police have charged a man following a very close call for a young couple sitting in their Saddleridge home Thursday night.
A bullet just missed the duo, as they sat down to watch television.
The shot was accidentally fired from a neighbouring townhouse in the 200 block of Saddlebrook Point NE.
Twenty-two-year-old Calvin William Blackwell is now charged with two counts of unsafe handling of a firearm, two counts of destroying or damaging property and one count of unauthorized possession of a firearm.
Police say several other weapons were found in the suspect’s home and they are determining if all the weapons were properly registered and stored.
The suspect is cooperating with police.
