The Heritage Classic weekend is here!
The Calgary Flames alumni game happens Saturday and the Hitmen hit the ice on Monday, while Sunday’s big game at McMahon Stadium pits the Flames against the Canadiens.
This isn’t a regular game, as it presents its share of problems for both the players and the broadcasters.
It will be cold on the bench and the players will be wearing more underneath their equipment to deal with temperatures estimated to top out at just -11 at the 4:00 p.m. face-off on Sunday.
Sportsnet Radio FAN 960’s Peter Maher says it will also be hard for broadcasters to get situated in their new surroundings, at least at first, with legions of fans obscuring their view of the ice and the players.
One lucky 660News Insider will be headed to the Heritage Classic.
Paula Armitage’s name was drawn from thousands of registered insiders for tickets to the big game.
