WHL has outdoor fever

The WHL wants to stage more outdoor games like the one at McMahon Stadium between the Calgary Hitmen and Regina Pats over the weekend.

The Hitmen lost 3-2 to the Pats, but they did it in front of a record crowd of nearly 21,000 people.

WHL Commissioner Ron Robison now wants to piggy back on as many NHL Heritage Classic games as possible.

Representatives from a number of WHL teams were at the game on Monday, checking out how Calgary ran the event.
