The province is promising to give police more tools to find missing people.

New legislation being proposed would give officers more access to information in a move some critics say could threaten privacy.

Justice Minister Verlyn Olson tells The Calgary Sun the new bill will respect privacy while giving police forces the tools they’re asking for.

He calls the proposed legislation “leading edge.”
