East Village will receive major facelift

A major multi-million dollar land development has been inked for the East Village just 5 months after a previous major deal was announced.

The Calgary Municipal Land Corporation said today that the $300 million dollar deal will see about 600,000 square feet of mixed-use, multi-family development in the East Village.

Frank Giaonnone is the president of FRAM Building Group and says they expect to break ground in early 2012 with residents moving in by late 2013.

Between this new land development and a previously announced one, over 1.2 million square feet of mixed use development is slated to pop up in the East Village within the next few years.
